I have worked extensively with people from different cultures, economic situations, and mental health needs. It is my goal to provide an accepting and safe place to help guide you through your process in your own unique way. I am dedicated to the development of human potential and will assist you in increasing self-awareness, self-healing, emotional/spiritual growth, and behavior change.
My approach to counseling is collaborative as I see myself as a support along your personal journey. I find great value in meditation and mindfulness practices as well as include EMDR in my work.

Philosophy & Approach: As a counselor, I utilize Person Centered Therapy, Attachment- Based Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I also provides EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) treatment. My goal is to create a growth promoting climate and support you to overcome the struggles that you are facing in your life and in your relationships. Sometimes issues from your past may be interfering with your life goals and exploring these issues can help to create the changes you are seeking. At other times, it is your thoughts or belief systems that are getting in the way. In my approach, empathy is an integral part of the therapeutic process. Clients are experienced as they are and given the opportunity to examine themselves and see who they want to become. I receive supervision from Supervisor: Samantha Turpin and seek training to further my knowledge as a counselor.
Formal Education: Andrea Robinson holds a Master of Arts degree (MA) from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Clinical Counseling Psychology. Andrea is trained in individual, group, and family therapy. She works with adults and adolescents. I also have a BA in education with an endorsement in Language Arts and taught both middle school and high school here in Portland, OR as well as the Czech Republic.
Andrea is a registered LPC Associate with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists (OBLPCT), and she abides by its Code of Ethics. As an LPC Associate, Andrea also abides by the Oregon Board by the Oregon Board of Psychology!s Code of Ethics.
